USCFL - Open Letter to the Lebanese Government and the Syrian Regime

This is dedicated to the Lebanese people wherever they may be in the world. It is in honor of those who have died , those who have suffered ,and those who are to this day , still imprisoned in the dungeons of tyranny . It is in memory of the martyrs who fought for our Lebanon and to the innocent victims who lived in our Lebanon. It is for those in exile and those wanting to return. More than anything it is for those resisting the Syrian occupation of our country. This is for a Democratic Free Lebanon with no compromises.

Freedom exists in the mind as does revolution and victory. Freedom exists in the words spoken and the thoughts of its thinkers. Freedom is not quelled by armies nor crooked politicians nor subversive foes. Freedom is a way of life. It is a way of life that you do not understand nor believe in . It is a way of life that you hope to deny , contrive to suppress. It is a feeling that none of you have felt because the very nature of your spirit is held captive. You are lackeys , and slaves to the stick of oppression. I can see no difference between the criminal and the accomplice , between the enemy and the traitor. You are one and the same.

In fact those of you who call themselves Lebanese hold more blame than the actual enemy. You who have sold the loyalty to your people in order to feed your unquenchable thirst for money or power and those of you who sold your country for no other reason than fear itself are the true evil enemy.

One day , when every Syrian soldier has left every inch of our soil and THEY WILL, when Syria has paid restitution and made amends for the suffering and damage that it has caused and IT WILL, and when every innocent Lebanese prisoner held by Syrians has been released and THEY WILL, then perhaps we will have peace with the Syrian Government but rest assured and make no mistake about it , you who have turned against your people and your country in the time of its utmost need and dire straights, will pay the highest price and YOU WILL.

The Lebanese people are not a people to be meddled with nor underestimated . We are not people to be denied nor oppressed . We are not people to be vanquished nor condemned and we are not people who will be deprived of our freedom. Our gem and our substance was built and will continue to be the freedom of thought and the freedom of expression and the freedom of belief that makes us the oasis of democracy in a sea of totalitarianism.

It is our ability to accept religious differences and and tolerate political divergence that makes us unique . It is our ability to exemplify the ingenuity and resourcefulness that has existed in this precious land since the dawn of civilization that makes us Lebanese People . And we are Proud of it.

In whatever country , and whatever place they choose to go , the Lebanese people excel and flourish and lead in their communities. They preserve the identity of their culture while contributing to their hosts . They abide by the laws and respect their fellow citizens. They are not terrorists nor are they militant. This is a reputation they have gained from your treachery and your sponsorship of terror. It is a reputation that has come from the filth of Syria and the dogs of Iran. It has come from the refugees of Palestine who we so generously harbored until they wrecked our country. Where have you figured to imprison us ? to attack us , to disband us ? Where have you figured that you would be successful ? In what dream , and under what influence ?

Oh no , we have fought , and we will fight , and we have won and we will win. Not in the few years that your masters have tried nor in the few years that your treachery has supplied, will the Country that is Lebanon be destroyed. Never, not in your wildest dreams nor greatest fantasies will the people of Lebanon be exiled and forgotten. We are made of sterner stuff than our stones, of higher ideals than our mountains and of greater depth than our sea . We are Lebanon , the very ground that it is made of, is made of our flesh and our bones and our blood.

Do not ever imagine that your scheming and plotting will amount to more than a bump, a pathetic obstacle in our long history of perseverance. Not the Ottomans , nor the Arabs , nor the French, and certainly not the Syrians will stop us from belonging and living in this Land . We are the Lebanese People, and history is our testament . Do not stand in our way , for you as have many others have, will whither. I can assure you , beyond a shadow of a doubt.
